Best Unique Souvenirs from Phuket
After living in Phuket for 16 years, people often ask me the same question before they fly home.

I always smile because Phuket has so much more to offer than magnets, elephant pants, and keychains.
Some of my favorite souvenirs aren't found in shopping malls at all. They're made by artists, small business owners, and people I've known for years.

Handmade Jewelry
I'm probably a little biased because I make jewelry myself. But after meeting thousands of visitors over the years, I've realized that people aren't really buying jewelry.
They're buying a memory.
When someone chooses a gemstone, learns what it represents, or finds a piece that reminds them of their trip, it becomes something they'll wear long after their holiday is over. One thing I love about Phuket is that so many talented people still make things by hand.
Not because it's the easiest way. Because they genuinely enjoy creating.
Throughout Phuket Art Village you'll find handmade decorations, paintings, ceramics and beautiful little gifts that all have their own story.
Those are the souvenirs I always recommend over factory-made products.
Nat's Crochet & Souvenirs
One of my favorite little shops belongs to my friend Nat. I love stopping by because there's always something new.
She creates beautiful handmade crochet clothing that you simply won't find in ordinary souvenir shops.
Her handmade toys are adorable, but she also makes lovely souvenirs and gifts that visitors often end up taking home for friends and family.

If you only have time to visit one creative place in Phuket, I'd choose Phuket Art Village.
It's where I work every day, but it's also where many talented local artists have their studios. You can wander between galleries, watch artists at work, enjoy live music on some evenings, grab an incredible hand-pressed coffee from Ma Ha Lung Café, and discover handmade gifts you simply won't find anywhere else.
It feels more like a small creative community than a tourist attraction.
That's exactly why I love it.
